Last Epoch has been losing players on Steam for months

Last Epoch has lost almost all of its players since its launch at the end of February. But with a new update, the game is now back on track.

What about Last Epoch? The Diablo 4 competitor has lost almost all of its players since its release. Only around 4,000 players remained loyal to the game. However, the ARPG has now achieved a surprise overnight success.

New update creates hype

Why do players return? On July 9th, Update 1.1 was released for Last Epoch. The update contains a lot of new content and a new season that allows a fresh start to the game. 70,000 players experienced the start of the new season on Steam.

The update “Harbingers of Ruin” brings an evasion ability for all classes, which is intended to provide more mobility. In addition to the new ability, the update also contains many balance changes to classes, but also to enemies in the game.

A new system called Nemesis is now in the game. It gives you random encounters in the campaign, in the Monolith and in dungeons.

Nemeses can also drop weapons that are designed to destroy the characters they kill. Boss defenses have also been reworked to make it clearer how much damage a boss takes.

What do players think of the new update? The players like the new update. The content that the new update brought comes from the feedback of the players and is probably also well received for this reason (via PCGamesN).

On Reddit, Greaterdivinity writes: “I played a bit this morning and midday and it was nice and smooth. No queues, no DC’s, no lag or jank. Granted, there isn’t the massive rush of players this time around, but great work to EHG for the big improvements between 1.0 and 1.1 launch!”

Toadsted still has criticism on Reddit: “The game still doesn’t beep or flash the chat window when you receive a personal message. It’s really tiring when messages from friends get lost in the global chat or game time.”

LightDarkCloud explains on Reddit why he likes the game: “It’s really a great game, not as stupid as D4 and not as PHD-like complex as POE. The combat could be a bit smoother and the endgame could use more content, but people seem to forget that we’re on 1.1, and considering how early in the game’s lifespan it is, this is a great piece of software.”

With the new update of Last Epoch, players can once again experience new content in the game and look forward to many improvements. This may also satisfy these critical players again: players put 200 hours into Last Epoch on Steam and then warn: “There is a lack of good content”
