Former Secretary of State Bolsonaro, who was also involved in the congress raid in Brazil and started living in the USA, is expected to testify in his country. Brazilian Justice Minister Flavio Dino pointed out that there was a lot of evidence in the investigation launched into the undeclared $3.2 million jewelery and also talked about what would happen if Bolsonaro did not come to testify.
JEWELERY WILL BE CALLED TO EXPRESSION
Flavio Dino reported that former President Jair Bolsonaro will be summoned to testify about the undeclared $3.2 million in jewelery that was discovered on his return from Saudi Arabia’s visit. Dino said in a statement that Bolsonaro would be summoned to testify, but did not share information on the date of the statement.
Minister Dino, “Former President will be summoned to testify. If he does not come, a new situation may develop in which international cooperation mechanisms can come into play.” said.
Noting that the investigations into the undeclared jewels continue, Dino said, “There are other people and witnesses who are being listened to. The investigation can be completed without being heard, but I hope he will come and give his statement.” he said.
Dino drew attention to the fact that there are many photographs, videos and evidence within the scope of the investigation.
BOLSONARO DEFENDED THAT THERE WAS NO Irregularities
The jewels, worth $3.2 million, were found in the backpack of one of Bolsonaro’s crew at Sao Paulo Guarulhos Airport on his return from his Saudi Arabian visit.
Bolsonaro, on the other hand, argued through his lawyer Frederick Wassef that the jewelery in question was reported and that there was no irregularity in the matter.
RESISTING NOT TO RETURN FROM USA
Bolsonaro, who is under investigation for “inciting” a congressional raid in Brazil, has been living in the United States since December 30, 2022.
It is recorded that Bolsonaro applied for a visa to stay in the USA longer.
