The IOC has opened to for Russian athletes.
It makes popular television profile Lasse Granqvist boil.
– I think it’s too damned, he says in the Sporthuset podcast.
It was last week that the announcement came that the International Olympic Committee, IOC, is opening the door for Russian and Belarusian athletes again. The new announcement states that the ported countries may be allowed to participate in the upcoming Summer Olympics 2024 in Paris.
Granqvist’s anger
Extremely strong reactions have been aroused around the world. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has invited the IOC president Thomas Bach to the country to show what Russia has done.
“We know how often tyrannies try to use sport for their ideological interests. It is obvious that every neutral flag for Russian athletes is stained with blood. I invite Mr. Bach to Bachmut (city in Ukraine under Russian siege). So that he can see with his own eyes that neutrality does not exist,” writes the president in a statement on Twitter.

– It goes without saying that Ukraine will of course boycott and I hope many will follow them, says C More favorite Granqvist in his podcast Sporthuset and continues his explanation:
– My emotional reaction is that the IOC is a disgrace when it comes to representing international athletes. I think it’s too damned that it has ended up in this situation.

“The Olympics are collapsing”
Granqvist makes the podcast together with his colleagues Tommy Åström and Jens Fjällström. Where the former has a gloomy outlook on what this could mean for the Olympics.
– I think it will lead to the Olympics collapsing in an unmanageable wave of boycotts if this decision stands, says Åström in the podcast.

Several National Olympic Committees have already raised their voices in favor of a possible boycott of the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
