Janne Andersson and the Swedish national team will not succeed in qualifying for next year’s EC.
Now they, and the union, are receiving criticism from Lasse Granqvist.
– Something has gone wrong, he says in the Sporthuset podcast.
Sweden lost the EC qualifying match against Austria with 1-3. The chance of Blågult succeeding in making it to the 2025 European Championship in Germany is now minimal, and a miracle is required.
Granqvist’s harsh criticism
Union captain Jan Andersson has a weak result in the last year. But at the press conference after the Austria match, he was clear that he will not resign. The football association also announced that Janne is currently safe.

In his podcast Sporthuset which he has together with Tommy Åström directs Lasse Granqvist now criticism towards the Swedish Football Association.
– All eyes are on Fredrik Reinfeldt and the federal board, why isn’t a new general secretary in place? In Swedish confederation work, the general secretary is a key, not least in football when a new confederation captain is to be recruited, says Granqvist and continues:
– What if they hire a confederation captain now and in three months they hire a general secretary who says “why did you hire this confederation captain?” Basically, you have to start getting answers from Reinfeldt and the union leadership, which general secretary should it be? How should Swedish football be navigated?

“Janne is easily offended”
Both sports profiles also choose to question Janne Andersson in the podcast.
– As we heard at the press conference, it wasn’t just the fight with The buoy Djordjic, he has been easily offended in the past year. He wasn’t before. I could see how he struggled and in the end, it wasn’t an outburst but, you can hear the irritation, instead of calmly just surfing with the angle. He doesn’t succeed in that, says Åström in the podcast.

Granqvist adds to the criticism:
– It’s something that went wrong and something that didn’t quite land as we thought. It is quite obvious that Janne Andersson has stuck, the national team will no longer come.
