“Lasse Björn, one of the association’s greatest players of all time with shirt number 12 hoisted to the Hovet’s roof, has passed away after a period of illness,” announced the Djurgården sports association in a statement.
“We send our thoughts to family and relatives and remember an eternal Järnkamin”.
Lasse Björn, who was the grandfather of the hockey player Douglas Murray, has the record of nine SM gold medals on his track record. He also has two WC gold medals, and was elected to the IIHF Hall of Fame in 1998.
The legend was 92 years old.
