The popular artist, Lasse Berghagen did a secret interview with the presenter Mark Levengood before his passing.
– I think it has been fantastic and incredible. Above all, that I received so much love, partly from friends and acquaintances, but also from the entire Swedish people, says Berghagen in the interview.
The interview with Lasse Berghagen recorded a year ago will be the first episode of a new TV series called “The Last Word”. There, the popular artist reflects on his life in a “candid conversation” and takes a personal farewell.
The idea of the program is to interview famous people, who can be completely uncompromising with their thoughts about relatives, enemies, faults and shortcomings. The interview participants receive a promise that the interview will not be leaked before they leave.
– People can be very sincere, in a way that you find it difficult to be if you are held accountable by a journalistic corps, for example. I’m not looking for scoops in these interviews. This allows them to tell their version and clarify how it has been, says Levengood i News morning on Saturday morning.
– It was a very long interview. I think I interviewed him for almost eight hours, he continues.
Berghagen about the divorce
Nyhetsmorgon has had access to parts of the interview where Lasse Berghagen talks about first love and what it has been like to be Lasse Berghagen.
– I look back on the time as a very bright period, but with the divorce also came the pain. Separating from Barbro and Malin was very painful and I was very much in love with Barbro for many, many years after the divorce, says Berghagen about the divorce.
– I was simply too young, he continues.
To Levengood’s question about what it has been like to live as Lasse Berghagen, he answers:
– I think it has been fantastic, incredible. Above all, that I received so much love, partly from friends and acquaintances but also from the entire Swedish people.
– I’m actually a bit fascinated myself, he continues.
Lasse Berghagen died on October 19 after being cared for in hospital for a long time due to an infection in his body. He lived to be 78 years old.
For many, Lasse Berghagen is primarily known for the song “Teddybjörnen Fredriksson” and as the presenter of Allsång at Skansen.
The episode with Lasse Berghagen will be broadcast on October 29 on Viaplay from 15:00 and at 20:00 on TV3.
