A 21-year-old LaSalle resident facing several charges after failing to stop for an Ontario Provincial Police officer with the Chatham detachment just before 11 p.m. Tuesday
Police said the accused sped away at a high rate of speed when the officer began a traffic stop while the vehicle was traveling west on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.
Investigators later found the vehicle at a service center and took the driver into custody without incident, police said.
The accused was charged with speeding, driving a motor vehicle with an unsealed container of liquor, driving with cannabis readily available and not having a valid permit.
The accused was given a date to appear in provincial offenses court in Chatham, police said.
