Larsson improved his record in the 100 meters

Sprinter Henrik Larsson has improved his Swedish record in the 100 meters.
Larsson ran 10.08 in his season opener in the final of an event in Graz, Austria – cutting the record time by five hundredths.

“It felt good, I was 10.17 in the trials where for some reason I didn’t push all the way to the finish even though I got a better start than in the final. In the final I focused on pushing all the way to the finish and then it was 10.08,” says Henrik Larsson in a press release from the Swedish Athletics Federation.

It was last summer that the sprint obliterated Peter Karlsson’s 27-year-old 100m record by running 10.17 in Turku, Finland. Later he polished the record to 10.13 during the SM in Söderhamn, but now the new record is 10.08.

The Olympic qualification limit is 9.99, but the Swedish Olympic Committee has set its nomination time at 10 blank. According to The radio sport can Larsson also get to Paris via ranking or by running several races in the 10.00–10.12 range.
