After first receiving a guided tour at Keros leather in Sattajärvi, the royal couple went on to Soltorget in Pajala, where the national day was celebrated with singing by Carina Henriksson and singing by Mikael Niemi.

The king also gave a speech in which he addressed, among other things, the policy that Sweden has pursued in history towards tower valleys.
– He brought up that Torne Valleys had part of their culture stolen and people we have spoken to here on site appreciate that he mentioned it, says Elias Paulsson.
Pajala municipality estimates that roughly 500 pajala workers participated in the celebration.
