On Thursday, the Southern Sami health conference began in Stjørdal on the Norwegian side.
The conference is organized by Aajege – Sami language and culture center in Røros together with the Southern Sami health network and the Sami Parliament, reports NRK Sápmi.
The health conference is the most important meeting place for the Sami health workers in the Southern Sami area and an important event for knowledge dissemination, exchange and networking.
The theme is “Interventions, rights and public health – How do ongoing processes affect Sami health?” and “Health care for the Sami population”.
There will be both lectures on health-related measures and projects related to Sápmi and the Southern Sami area.
