In connection with the demonstrations, one person has been arrested on suspicion of violence against an official and seven people have been taken into custody with the support of the Police Act § 13 – serious disorder or risk of such. This is reported by the Malmö Police in a press release.
The police add that they have cordoned off an area that includes Arenatorget and Hyllie station, down towards the buildings in a southern direction and with Hyllie Boulevard and Arenagatan as a demarcation.
“Current area is vacated, any entry is subject to review in each individual case.” it says.
– It is difficult to estimate, but around a hundred people are in Hyllie. Right now, the assessment is that it is calm and under control, says Jimmy Modin, press spokesperson at the police, to SVT Nyheter.
According to him, it is also calm in other parts of Malmö.
