The police were alerted to a home in Hammarby in Västerås at 7 o’clock on Sunday morning. A woman is said to have been beaten by a man. When the police arrive at the scene, the man is gone, but he can later be arrested by the police. The man is suspected of attempted murder and a preliminary investigation has been initiated.
The home has been cordoned off for technical inspection.
