During the day, the police carried out a major police operation aimed at organized crime in the Gothenburg area.
Hundreds of police, the task force and the National Bomb Squad took part in the operation and several people have been arrested.
– We have an offensive focus on organized crime, regardless of what forms it takes, says deputy regional police chief Robert Karlsson.
The background to the operation is an investigation into serious drug crimes and serious violent crimes. The police write that the investigation is ongoing and that the classifications may change depending on what emerges during house searches and interrogations.
Several people have been arrested, suspected of crimes and around ten have been brought in for questioning.
– Now we are gathering strength in the West region to investigate and prosecute suspected perpetrators. But there is still a lot of work to do with handling and analyzing the seizures that have been made, says Deputy Regional Police Chief Robert Karlsson.
Detectives, investigators, the task force, IT forensics, forensics, national bomb disposal and police dogs have participated in the operation.
