In Norway, a large oil leak has been observed in a decommissioned transformer position near Oslo. Statnett, the owner of the station, the state -owned energy company, doubts the reason for the dude.
The company discovered a leak on Sunday night at the old Hamang substation in Bærum, Statnett says in his announcement. There was a breakthrough in the place.
– It seems that someone has cut through the fence and removed the lid from the transformer there so that the oil has started leaking out, says the project manager Thomas Fennefoss.
The matter is now under investigation by police.
Up to 60 tonnes of oil have probably leaked. It has been partially collected, but some have also been absorbed into the ground and has been transported to the Sandvik River. Oil booms are placed on the river.
The substation was disabled last fall.
The news is updated.
