Grand Erie Public Health is Investigating Five More Confirmed Cases of Measles in Norfolk County.

The Health Unit Said There are Currently 53 Confirmed Cases (Eight Adults and 45 Children) in the Grand Erie Region, which include Haldimand County, Norfolk County, the City of Brantford and County of Brant.

The Five People Newly Confirmed With Measles Are Recovering at Home.

The Health Unit Is Following Up With Known Contacts of Those Infected Who May Have Been Exposed to the Measles Virus.

In A News Release Issued on Wednesday, the Health Unit Said Its Investigation has Determine Those at the following rental May have been exhibitions:

  • Norfolk General Hospital, 365 West St. in Simcoe on Feb. 14 from 9:20 pm to 11:30 pm
  • Norfolk General Hospital on Feb. 16 from 12 pm to 10 pm
  • Norfolk General Hospital on Feb. 18 from 7:30 am to 9:50 am am

Symptoms can start about 10 days after exposure but can also appear seven to 21 days after breathing in the virus. Symptoms Last One To Two Weeks.

A person with measles is contagious from Four Days before to oven days after the rash appears.

Canada Declared Measles “Eliminated” 25 Years AGO but there are still occasional boxes, Particularly in Unvaccinated or Under-Vaccinated People and Those Travelling to Areas where Measles has not been eliminated.
