At 01.45 an alarm was received by the emergency services that a large part of the E6 in Stenungsund had collapsed.
– A stretch of 150 meters has collapsed and a number of vehicles have driven into the hole. Adjacent industrial buildings have also collapsed, says Niklas Fogelqvist.
The accident site is difficult to access due to the additional risk of landslides.
– Emergency services, police and ambulances are on site, but you have to work very carefully because of the risk of race, explains Fogelqvist.
Duty officer Fredrik Flyberg at the police in the West agrees that the rescue work is more difficult, but three people have managed to be taken to hospital.
– They have minor fractures and are in shock. We don’t know how many OSM have been affected, but so far we have no information on any serious injuries, he says.
The road is blocked in both directions and Flyberg fears that the E6 will remain closed for a long time to come.
– The state’s geotechnical institute must make an assessment of landslide risk in several areas around before we know how big the closure will be, says Fredrik Flyberg.
