Firefighters were called to a large blaze at a horse farm southwest of London on Thursday.
It was late Thursday morning when the blaze broke out in what appeared to be several barns. London firefighters were at the scene assisting their volunteer counterparts from Delaware as they doused the flames at 2966 Brigham Rd., northwest of Longwoods Road and Westdel Bourne.
The blaze sent up plumes of smoke visible from as far away as downtown London.
Firefighters were spraying water on the property owner’s home to keep it protected from the heat of the nearby barn blaze, which was hot enough that plastic siding on the house appeared to be buckling.
No people or animals were injured, firefighters said.
