Those who wait for spring will have to wait a little longer.
SMHI has issued several warnings in southern Götaland – where there may be between 10 and 15 centimeters of snow.
– Locally there may be even more, says TV4’s meteorologist Peter Kondrup.
A large amount of snow is on its way over southern Götaland.
– It looks like it will be worst in northern Scania, in Blekinge and the southern parts of Halland and Kronoberg counties. There can be between 10 and 15 centimeters of heavy and wet snow. Locally, there may be even more, says TV4’s meteorologist Peter Kondrup.
“Great risk of muddy roads”
SMHI has issued a yellow warning from 6pm on Monday evening. And the storm is expected to last until Tuesday afternoon.
The area of precipitation is coming in from the south – making it hover in the borderland between rain and snow.
– Because the snow is heavy and wet, there is a big risk of muddy roads, especially on the smaller road network, says Peter Kondrup.
Sleet and temperatures around zero can also cause power outages.
– There is also a risk that local traffic will be affected with delays and possibly canceled departures. Long-distance traffic may also be affected.
Still cold
During Tuesday, the temperatures will rise and the snowfall will turn more and more into rain. But the rise in temperature is extremely temporary.
During Wednesday, freezing temperatures and light snowfall are expected again. And just in time for the weekend, it looks like it’s time for another cold front.
– Then it can be difficult again in southern Götaland with snowfall and wind, says Peter Kondrup.
