The language used in election manifestos is too difficult for many people. This is the conclusion of Utrecht linguists Henk Pander Maat and Leo Letz after an analysis of eleven party programs. The election manifestos of NSC and GroenLinks-PvdA contain the most difficult language. “We would welcome simplifying and summarizing.”
