If relatives said no to buying out, almost half of the young people, 45 percent, would refrain from obtaining alcohol. This is shown by a survey carried out on behalf of Systembolaget and the county administrations.

Since 2004, Swedes have been drinking less and less alcohol, and it is above all among young people that consumption is decreasing.

Every fifth 16-year-old states that they drank alcohol in the last month and it is mainly friends, siblings and parents who provide the alcohol.
