In Sudan’s Blue Nile province, on the Ethiopian border, clashes have been taking place between the two tribes since Monday due to a land dispute. According to the latest statement from the security service, clashes between the Berti and Hawsa tribes have so far killed at least 31 people and injured 39. During the clashes, 16 shops were also set on fire.
A CURRENT BAN HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED
While soldiers were deployed to the region to bring the situation under control, Blue Nile State Governor Ahmed al-Omda announced that a curfew was declared this evening. It is also forbidden to hold demonstrations in the state for a month.
