Announcing the first concrete steps of its new era as part of the “Design Day” event, Lancia also showed its updated logo for the first time.
Lancia, which is preparing to appear with a product range that will include only electric models from 2028, continues to share important announcements for the future this year. With the new event held today, it contains the first official details of the design approach in the product range of the brand. Launching the concept project with the name of Futura Zero, which brings the aviation lines to mind, Lancia shared the logo that it will use in the new period with the whole world for the first time in the same event.
What’s in Lancia’s future preparations?
It was announced in the past that Ypsilon would be the first step of the transformation for Lancia, which will almost transition to a completely different universe by 2023 in its 116-year adventure. It means that we will see the character of the Futura Zero concept, which was shown today, for the first time in the compact model. When we look at the front of the project, we see that Lancia’s iconic T-shaped grille is reflected with LED lights. The oval-shaped stops we see on the back bring the gene transfer from Stratos, as the enthusiasts can easily distinguish. When we think that Lancia had a concept project called “Stratos Zero” in the 70s, we cannot help but think that the Futura Zero project has a connection to this point as well. The cockpit design that Lancia cars will carry in the new period is expected to be shown in April 2023. The brand draws attention by sharing the information that it has cooperated with Cassina, which has an important history in the fields of design and interior architecture-furniture.
Lancia, which will display the identity with the new generation Ypsilon they will present in 2024, especially highlights the electric versions. For the electric Ypsilon, which we expect to share the same infrastructure with models such as the Peugeot e-208 and Opel Corsa-E in the Stellantis Group, the upcoming period will show whether there will be an improvement difference on the technical side. We know that the model marked 2026 in the calendar after the new Ypsilon will be in the crossover segment. In this model, Lancia will bring the name “Aurelia” back to life, and in 2028, it will return to Delta, which has become clear in the past, and will present its new generation. Along with all this, a flagship model will represent Lancia in the premium electric competition. At the first stage, the Italian manufacturer, which will only present its models in four major European markets, will expand to other markets as time progresses.
