About 250 staff and students will be collecting canned goods and non-perishable food items on 50 routes in Chatham and area neighborhoods from 4:30 to about 8 pm Oct. 31, the school said.

“This is a tremendous effort each year to support people in our community, who need our help,” said Ursuline College principal Lisa Harnarine.

Lancers Scare Hunger events help the local food bank stock up for the Christmas season, one of the busiest times of the year, the school said.

If you want to donate, but won’t be home Halloween night, can leave a donation on the front porch marked “UCC” or “donation,” so volunteers know to collect it.
