Marshall is now with the Township of Perth East and Municipality of West Perth as a deputy station chief and fire prevention-investigation officer. He also worked for fire services in London, Morris-Turnberry and Meaford.
“I am excited to have this opportunity and look forward to serving the Lambton Shores community in this role,” Marshall said in a news release. “As someone looking in from the outside, residents should be proud of their fire department and the team of firefighters that make it what it is.”
Lambton Shores has fire stations in Arkona, Forest, Grand Bend, Northville, and Thedford.

Along with its on-call firefighters, the municipality’s fire service has two part-time district chiefs, a part-time deputy chief of operations and a full-time deputy chief of training.
“With extensive experience in emergency services, coupled with his proven leadership capabilities, I am confident James is well equipped to lead our fire and emergency services into the future,” Stephen McAuley, CAO of Lambton Shores, said in the news release.
“We eagerly anticipate the positive impact he will have in his new role and look forward to introducing him to our team of dedicated on-call firefighters.”
Lambton Shores said its previous chief, Lawrence Swift, was no longer with the municipality as of April.
David McLean has been acting fire chief since then and will remain in that role until Marshall joins the fire service Oct. 30, the municipality said.
