This year’s surströmming premiere is just a few days away. August 15 is officially the day, but the amount of streaming in the Baltic Sea continues in a downward trend. Although this year’s sturgeon fishing generated a little more than last year, times are still tough for coastal fishing. We fished a lot of nights but got nothing, by and large, says Björn Lundgren, fisherman and co-owner of Rovögerns fish, to TV4 Nyheterna. Sour wort may replace In light of the low catch, Rovögern’s fishermen are testing new methods that include the use of sour wort – instead of sour flounder. – It is mainly to show people that roach is not a rubbish fish. It can be used just as well as any other fish, together with id and bream.
