It was about 12:05 am on Saturday when Elgin County OPP say officers received a “traffic complaint.” A vehicle was later stopped on Talbot Line near Hacienda Road in Malahide Township, a rural intersection located southeast of Aylmer.

As a result of their investigation, police say they have charged a 34-year-old Aylmer man with impaired driving and registering above the legal blood-alcohol level of 0.08.

The accused was hit with a 90-day driver’s license suspension and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days, police said. He is scheduled to appear in St. Thomas court on Dec. 31, said police, who expressed their gratitude to the citizen who contacted them with their concerns.
