When Andersson announced her resignation as prime minister, she expressed concern that there are forces that, through SD’s electoral success, can claim that there is support for extremism and even violence.
She added that a heavy responsibility rests on M, KD and L to “draw a clear line against all attempts to excuse or incite various forms of hatred, threats and violence”
— I react very strongly to that. It is a very serious accusation that our parties would not be able to draw that line. It is a very sad tone that the outgoing prime minister is setting, says Persson.
His party leader Johan Pehrson commented on the election victory on Twitter.
“The Swedish people have voted for a change and a liberal bourgeois power shift”.
“The school issue is very important”
Pehrson believes that the narrow election victory is a clear message from the voters that they want to see a new government.
Mats Persson states that the negotiations on a government collaboration are now underway.
— It is important that we get a government and the school issue is very important to us in those negotiations.
L wants to form part of a government together with M and KD.
TT: Will you get it?
— That is our starting point. That is what we see ahead of us. I am convinced that we will.
Persson: “Not worried”
TT: Have M and KD said they will let you into a government?
— What different parties say, we don’t speculate about that in the media.
Persson is not concerned that negotiations with SD may lead to agreements that are contrary to liberal values.
– We will enter these negotiation rooms as liberals and we will leave these negotiation rooms as liberals, he says.
— We have a strong tradition and a strong pathos for liberal values, which we will not let go of.
