The old Mitsui family villa is right next to the Shimogamo sanctuary, very close to the Imperial Palace is strangely shunned by tourists. And yet, we can observe classic Japanese architecture in incredible conditions, walk in the most bucolic foam garden. Finally, we can, in the tea pavilion, or taste a matcha tea or have a very generous breakfast (Shojin Ryori) for the sum of 25 €. The entrance to the villa costs 500 yen (~ € 3.5), you can visit the place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last entries at 4.30 p.m.).
