Kupporo in Sudan after explosions

Large explosions and gunfire are heard in various places in Sudan’s capital Khartoum on Saturday. The paramilitary RSF says it was attacked by the army, and then seized the airport and the presidential palace, Reuters reports.

Flight data shows planes turned around after almost landing at the airport. According to the news agency, the fighting, described as heavy, has broken out between the country’s two rival military powers following growing unrest in the country in recent weeks. Something that now increases the concern for a new civil war.
