Kristoffer Olsson’s girlfriend Alice Larsdotter about the collapse

National team player Kristoffer Olsson is back on his feet – ten months after collapsing at home and ending up on a ventilator.
He has his girlfriend Alice with him, who talks about the time after the collapse.
– It was as if everything was unreal around. I just walked around and thought about you, how you felt and how you thought, says Alice Larsdotter in “Efter fem”.

From one day to another, life was turned upside down for the then 28-year-old national team player and FC Midtjylland player Kristoffer Olsson. In February 2024, he collapsed in his home due to an extremely rare inflammation of the vessels of the brain.

To this day, Kristoffer Olsson remembers nothing from a short time before the collapse until some time after the respirator. He has been told how everything happened. When the collapse happened, his parents and four-year-old son Jamie were visiting the house in Denmark.

– I apparently said that I wanted to go to bed already at five or six. My parents let me sleep, but later they had gone into my room and then I had spat all over the room and couldn’t bring myself to life.

The meeting with the girlfriend: “The longest hug”

Kristoffer Olsson was on a respirator for just over two weeks – when he woke up, he still didn’t understand what had happened. He was in a wheelchair, but thought he was going to training camp, or had injured his foot.

– Now you can laugh about it, but it’s really sick.

After a few months in the hospital and rehabilitation center, Kristoffer Olsson started to get better. In August, he had to move home. He wanted to get completely healthy before he met the girl he was with before everything happened: Alice Larsdotter.

– Then I actually went on her Instagram and checked, because I thought, she must have met someone new now.
But she didn’t have that. And then we started to have some contact.

In September they met again.

– It was the longest hug we’ve ever had, says Alice Larsdotter.

Then he’s back on the field

While headlines about Kristoffer Olsson’s condition appeared in the media, Alice struggled with her emotions. She was in contact with his sister, who updated her on the situation.

– Kristoffer has always meant so much to me. So it was a lot of work. It was like everything around was unreal. I just walked around thinking about you, how you were feeling and how you were thinking.

Now there are plans for the future – the couple will move together in Denmark.

– Kristoffer is so very genuine and so down-to-earth. You kind of see everyone around you and you’re so nice to everyone, says Alice Larsdotter.

Kristoffer Olsson also has big plans to soon be able to play elite football again – he is determined to be back already in the spring.

– Before May, it will probably happen. Then I will be there and really play for points for Midtjylland – and be able to do what I love to do.
