Kristine Stavås Skistad’s open -hearted words about the tough season

It has been a tough season for Kristine Stavås Skistad.
The Norwegian ski star failed to live up to expectations.
Now she says with open -hearted words about what it has been like.

The problems started already before the season when Kristine Stavås Skistad was forced into an unexpected stomach surgery. It made it for the entire season opening and when she came back it was not the same skier.

Skistad’s disappointment

The Norwegian sprint star had to fight a lot to get in top form and she still entered the ski World Cup 2025 with high expectations. But the World Cup in Trondheim was not at all what she hoped for.

On the individual sprint, Stavås Skistad “only” took a World Cup silver and was very disappointed. On the team sprint she completely failed with the teammate Lotta Udnes Weng And didn’t even reach the pallet.

The season finale after the ski World Cup on Norwegian soil was also extremely tough. Kristine Stavås Skistad went out already in the semi -finals in Tallinn and in Lahti she finished second on the individual sprint – then it went even worse in the team sprint.

In the final of the team sprint, it was then total fiasco and a seventh place in the last race of the season for Stavås Skistad.
– I miss that last little extra. I have nothing to answer when it is to be decided. I am simply a little worn and heavy after everything that happened this season, she says to the evening newspaper about the season finale this weekend.
– It is very nice that this is over. Now I want to take a vacation.

She can then describe in her own words the very last World Cup of the season.
“This was a day of sadness,” Kristine says in the interview.
