Jonna Sundling and Maja Dahlqvist won the World Cup team sprint in Trondheim in convincing style.
Almost a minute after the Swedes went to the finish, Norway came in seventh place.
– We think it’s a bit embarrassing now, a dark day for both of us, says Kristine Stavås Skistad to NRK.
Not only that the Norwegian duo Kristine Stavås Skistad26, and Lotta Udnes Weng28, came in seventh place in the World Cup team sprint in front of the home fan. They were forced to witness how Jonna Sundling30, and Maja Dahlqvist30, from Sweden completely dominated in the race and took the country’s fourth straight World Cup gold on the women’s side.
Stavås Skistad Saw in Norway
The Norwegian riders were severely sawn after the completely failed effort. They came 56 seconds after Sweden and five seconds after Femman Germany. They were just over 45 seconds from the podium.
– Norway is completely removed. We have been able to get proper. This was a black day, unfortunately. They did not come up in their potential at all. They have been completely raging, says the NRK expert Torgeir Björn.

Of course, Stavås Skistad and Udnes Weng were very dissatisfied and distressed by their performance.
– We think it’s a bit embarrassing now, a dark day for both of us. It is embarrassing to be such a shit boot, Kristine tells NRK.
Kristine Stavås Skistad’s first words
The journalists asked Stavås Skistad if they were not a little hard on themselves afterwards, but she does not buy that at all. Rather, she saw herself even harder.
– Yes, but today it was completely dark, that is. It’s a shame when there is such a good atmosphere and audience. It deserved a little better from us today, but sometimes it is. For me it went very slowly. This is not where you want to be when it is the World Cup at home, she says.

The cameras caught the Norwegians immediately after the finish. Then Stavås Skistad was heard saying: “It was absolutely sad” to Lotta Udnes Weng.
– In a way, it was a little good for me to see that you didn’t hang out either. I saw it from the beginning. We had not had a chance today, Weng replies.
Stavås Skistad will not be in the baton
The 26-year-old also talked to Dagbladet afterwards. She tries to come up with a reason that it happened in the race, but does not really know where to dig.
– Today we get it tough in every way possible. It is sad that things are going so badly at home. It was a very long time since I reacted like this. So it’s surprising and boring. I usually have good shape. It is physical today. I don’t really know what it is, she says.
She also doesn’t think she will be in the baton on Friday.
– Today it is so bad that you are not disappointed. We have to go home and figure out how to get better.
– There is absolutely no reason why I will compete more in the championship, she concludes.
Kristine Stavås Skistad and Lotta Udnes Weng were completely distressed and disappointed after the Norwegian effort in the World Cup team sprint. With all right. Sweden also wins in front of the eyes of the Norwegian audience on Granåsen, Trondheim.
