Jonna Sundling’s words after the World Cup gold
It was a Swedish-Norwegian duel between Sundling and Stavås Skistad from start to finish. No other rider was really involved in the gold battle. Her tactic was to lie in the back on the rival, but Jonna showed great patience and held out all the way.

– I knew she would do that. But I didn’t let myself be stopped by it, she says in Viaplay.
– I decided before stress helps me nowhere. I have to try to find calm as my dad usually says. Focused a lot on my own skiing. Then it becomes difficult with this frame to know where everyone is, she continues.
Kristine Stavås Skistad’s great disappointment
Kristine Stavås Skistad, who underwent an unplanned stomach surgery for the season and thus had to stand over a couple of competitions this year, was completely exhausted after getting in goal as second. She threw herself down to the ground and heard moaning with fatigue. After the awards ceremony, she met the press and she was obviously disappointed.
– I’m disappointed. The only thing I didn’t want today was to be beaten by Sweden at home, and so it will be, she tells VG.
