Kristine Stavå’s Skistad’s comeback gives nightmares ahead of the World Ski Championships

The season has so far been miserable for the Norwegian.
But now Kristine Stavå’s Skistad is back again.
And she breathes blood before the World Ski Championships, blue-yellow blood.

The long-awaited World Ski Championships is fast approaching. In the Swedish camp, there are a lot of question marks for the national skiing team ahead of the championship in Trondheim, Norway.

Tough for Skistad

The big star names Frida Karlsson, Ebba Andersson and Lynn Svahn has not convinced at all so far at the World Cup. But one who has had it considerably worse is the Norwegian Kristine Stavå’s Ski City.

Just before the season premiere, she was forced to undergo an immediate stomach operation, which still has not been answered. Therefore, the 25-year-old has only done a single World Cup race this season and then she already went out in the quarter-finals during the sprint in Lillehammer.

Gives nightmares

But mostly it has been dead quiet around Stavås Skistad and she has been training in secret outside the Norwegian national team. This week she made a comeback at home in Norway and not even a broken pole could stop her from winning the Norwegian sprint championships quite easily.

On Saturday, she also makes a comeback at the World Cup in Les Rousses, France, and I don’t know how you feel, but I’ve already started having nightmares about the Norwegian. She will be deadly during the World Ski Championships in Trondheim and should be extremely hungry for revenge.

Sundling’s dominance

Sweden has dominated the sprint in the last championships and above all Jonna Sundling has won three straight gold medals in two WCs and one Olympics. At the last World Ski Championships, the Swedes even took a historic triple on the podium, but it was in Planica, Slovenia, and now it’s Trondheim, Norway.

Kristine Stavås Skistad has shown that she is very dangerous at home on Norwegian soil and has won three straight World Cup sprints in Norway since 2023. This season she has opted out of the Tour de Ski and several World Cup races in order to be as good as possible in the sprint race in the WC and that makes me extremely worried.

Add to that Therese Johaug who will be big favorites in the distance races, it could be a tough championship for our blue and yellow ladies. Up to proof for Jonna, Linn, Frida and Ebba!
