It was just a silver medal for Kristine Stavås Skistad at the home World Cup in Trondheim.
Now she leaves the tail between her legs.
At the same time, she rings away against TV2 expert Petter Solng Skinstad who criticized the national team’s choice of riders in the team sprint.
“He makes many stupid statements,” she says.
Kristine Stavås Skistads26, the worst nightmare was to see Sweden win the World Cup sprint on Granåsen, Trondheim. They did it twice. First won Jonna Sundling30, in the individual sprint – then she won and Maja Dahlqvist30, team sprint. In the same competition, Norway came seven.
The expert saw the Norwegian team selection
When the World Cup is summed up for Kristine Stavås Skistad’s part, there is only one silver medal from the sprint. It is a massive miscalculation for the home rider. Seventh place in the team sprint, together with Lotta Udnes Weng28, no one had expected. They came to the finish almost a minute after Sweden.
– It was heavy and dark. It is boring and hard when it is such a lovely audience. They deserved more, so just apologize, Stavås Skistad told TV2 after the race.

The channel’s expert Petter Solng Skinstad was not completely impressed with the Norwegian national team selection for the team sprint. He was straightforward and clear that he thought they had taken the wrong riders.
– It’s 100 percent wrong selection. Lousy coaching. Team sprint is not a sprint, he says, saying they were tactically away.
– It’s a complete failure. When you have enough good rider in the squad to be able to compete for a medal, and in the end choose the wrong team, then it is a failure that you never really compete for a medal.
Kristine Stavås Skistad defends herself
Petter Solng Skinstad wanted others to get the chance in the team sprint.
– Yes, it is easy to be afterwards. It is very easy to say it now. But I feel we deserved to drive. It’s not up to us to say something about it really, Lotta Udnes Weng tells TV2 when she hears what the expert said.

Kristine Stavås Skistad also chops Petter Solng Skinstad according to his harsh words. She rings away from the criticism.
– Yes, it’s easy to say it now. I think Petter comes with many stupid statements. I think he should be a little calm and then we agree that we should have performed better today. But it is very easy to say afterwards.
