Now Kristine Stavås Skistad has left the ski World Cup.
Here is her last word to the Swedes after the blue -yellow dominance.
Norwegian ski star Kristine Stavås Skistad Come to the Ski World Cup in Trondheim with very high expectations. She pointed out herself as a gold favorite in the individual sprint but saw her dream crushed.
Skistad’s failure
At home, the 26-year-old from Konnerud failed to live up to the hopes and had to settle for a World Cup silver behind unstoppable Jonna Sundling. It then got even worse during the team sprint when Norway, with Stavås Skistad in the team, failed completely and only became seven in goal.

Norway’s World Cup effort on the women’s side has completely ended up in the cloud of the blue-yellow dominance. So far, Sweden has won all gold medals and has been careful to remind their arch rivals about it.

Kristine’s last word
Of course with the twinkle in the eye but certainly it hurts all Norwegian’s hearts that the Swedish national anthem was played four times on the rake in Trondheim. The very worst nightmare can become a reality if Sweden wins all six World Cup gold on the women’s side on Norwegian soil.

Kristine Stavås Skistad has now left the ski World Cup and had to settle for just one medal. Just the idea of a scenario where the Swedes take home all the gold medals “raise disgust in her eyes,” writes Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet.
“I can’t think about it,” she says with shivers at a press conference and admits why she has left Trondheim.
– There is no reason for me to stay here anymore.
Sundling’s response
The Norwegian then gets a question from the magazine about “what provokes her most” with the Swedes’ dominance at the World Cup.
– This is not how we thought it would go. But Sweden is strong, it is really just to sharpen and get better for next year, says Skistad with her last words before she leaves the championship.

Dagbladet then turns to the Swedes Jonna Sundling and Maja Dahlqvist, who hear the words of the arch rival.
– It’s wonderful that they feel that way. It’s just the truth, says Dahlqvist with a smile.
– We will continue to work, do our best and will probably not make it easy for them. I thought they (Norway) would be closer, but it is tough under these conditions, says Sundling about the remaining World Cup.
