Moderate leader Ulf Kristersson wants to see a stop to tax increases in the coming term of office if he is allowed to form a government, he says during the party’s day in Almedalen.

– I want to issue a promise, during my government there will be a tax increase stop. Before we get good value for the money we pay, not a single tax will be raised, he says in TV4’s Nyhetsmorgon.

He points to the government, which he claims has raised 46 taxes during the term of office, and the “left-wing cartel” which, according to Kristersson, is looking at raising taxes on everything from fuel to real estate. Now that inflation has risen, he thinks it is problematic.

To finance government spending, he wants to see that the money used goes to basic things and not wasted.

When asked how the defense will be financed, which will be expanded by tens of billions in the coming years, he answers that there may be savings on other things.
