Just over a week after the election, work is underway to name a new government. On Monday morning, the speaker of the Riksdag, Andreas Norlén, begins his individual talks with the party leaders of seven of the Riksdag parties.

The first conversation in the speaker’s office is held with Moderat leader Ulf Kristersson at 10.30am. Then there will be meetings with the party representatives from the Sweden Democrats, the Center Party, the Green Party, the Christian Democrats and finally the Liberals, who will talk to the speaker at 1:25 p.m.

The fact that the Social Democrats are missing from the list is due to the fact that the speaker already had a conversation with the S leader and outgoing Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson when she submitted her request for dismissal.

After the talks with the party leaders, the speaker is expected to hold a press conference, tentatively at 2:30 p.m. Then he will probably announce that Kristersson will be tasked with trying to form a government.

Speaker’s call schedule

10.30: The moderates

10.55: The Sweden Democrats

11.20: Center Party

11.45: The Left Party

12.10: The Green Party

13.00: The Christian Democrats

13.25: The Liberals
