The visit is planned for Friday and will only last for one day – but Biden’s trip is still considered significant as a previously planned trip had to be canceled due to Hurricane Milton’s progress. Then Biden would have met French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
In addition, a meeting with representatives of countries that support Ukraine in the Russian invasion war was then cancelled. The so-called Ramstein group has previously met at the American military base of the same name.
Developments in the Middle East are also on the agenda at Biden’s meetings with German Chancellor Scholz and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
