On Tuesday afternoon, Ulf Kristersson invited all party leaders to talk about the security policy situation. Now the Prime Minister is holding a press conference together with Mikael Tofvesson, head of department at the Agency for Psychological Defense.
Kristersson says that he has had a telephone conversation with UN Secretary General António Guterres and asked for help to tone down the threat image against Sweden. He also explains that Sweden is not looking for a fight with the outside world, and urges the public to be careful after the misinformation that is being spread.
– We urge everyone to pay attention to information that upsets, frightens or wants to create emotions.
The Prime Minister was also asked about the criticized statement that the hanging NATO dummy would be sabotage.
– I think it is my duty to tell the consequences, and think it is important that the outside world should know that it is not the country of Sweden that is doing this, hanging dolls and burning Korans.
