Scoundrel thrower Krista Tervo surprised everyone at the Lahti GP by setting a new Finnish record of 74.63 in the last round. The previous SE, which was in the name of a woman, improved by 23 cents.

It is also a new Nordic record. With the result, he wedges himself into second place in the European statistics.

Tervo’s race got off to a rough start, and he didn’t get a result at all in two rounds. In the third round, the machines started with a result of 70.44.

– My mind is empty at the moment. It was an exhausting experience. I don’t remember what was done, Tervo sneered.

Tervo was surprised by the SE race. He broke the Olympic limit at the same time.

– I had expected that there would be realistic possibilities for a stoppage time, but it was, frankly, an uphill battle. However, training has been going well.

I’m happy to go to Rome

In his career, Tervo has been eighth in the European Championships and tenth in the World Championships. In the biggest competitions, however, his challenge has been to succeed in the best possible way.

A fresh SE in the last round is indeed a tasty sign considering the European Championships in Rome.

– It has been a long wait to be able to throw long throws. When there is a desire to go, the throw easily goes wrong. When I looked at my throw on the screen, I must have never had such a good throw.

So to Rome full of confidence?

– I will definitely go with chest rotting. Now let’s not be humbled, let’s go with our chins up.
