Krista Pärmäkoski skied to an overwhelming Finnish championship in Tampere in the 10 km freestyle skiing competition. Pärmäkoski took the championship with a difference of 36.4 seconds Jasmi to Joensuu.

Eveliina Piippo narrowly missed out on bronze by three seconds.

Pärmäkoski tore up the gap, especially after the first kilometer, up to six kilometers. Even in that time, Joensuu lost a good 20 seconds.

– Pärmäkoski is still in really great condition. Urheilu’s expert was able to endure until the end Kalle Lassila snorted and drew attention from the stadium.

– There were few skiers in Pärmäkoski who came to the entire stadium skating on poles. There was no need to recover. In the last 900 meters, he still made a difference to the next duo.

Joensuu was 2.5 seconds behind Pärmäkoski and Piippo 3.5 seconds behind in the final sprint.

The route was viewed beforehand only on the map

Pärmäkoski won the fifteenth individual Finnish championship. Pärmäkoski set out to get, above all, a hard competition-like training, but the route was a mystery.

– I drove here this morning from home. I looked at the track map to see how the route roughly goes. Many thanks to the organizers that the route was well marked. Paint had been drawn on the edges of the track, they could see that too, Pärmäkoski described.

Pärmäkoski estimates that he fell more easily in the first five-kilometer run, but in the second round they also went braver.

In value races, the route is always reviewed in much more detail.

– With strong self-confidence, order and routine, this didn’t hurt, Lassila staked Pärmäkoski’s solution.

Lassila got fired up about the Pärmäkoski competition in general.

– It had the rock mood of the big world. Krista came here in the morning twilight, won the next 40 seconds almost and went back home to prepare for the next races. There was something great about that. The performance came in front of a huge audience, Lassila beamed.

Pärmäkoski was in high spirits at the turn of the year on the Tour de Ski tour, but the Finnish star had to leave the tour. After recovering from that, the exercises have gone well.

– I have been waiting to be able to compete. You should still be patient with top condition. We’ve done a little bit more, so that the peak condition wouldn’t show up yet, Pärmäkoski opens.

Joensuu happy, Piippo was disappointed especially with the skiing

The World Ski Championships are waiting in Planica in a month. In the coming weekends, the last World Cup competitions will be skied before the World Championships in France and Italy.

Pärmäkoski will go on a trip on Wednesday and plans to return to Finland only after the World Championships.

– Now the most important moments begin. We are looking for good and hard starts in the World Cup. Then to the preparation camp to enjoy and I believe that we are ready for the World Championships, Pärmäkoski opens his plans.

Jasmi Joensuu was happy with her second place after Friday’s pair sprint disappointment.

– The free ten kilometers is my worst distance. Still, I was second. I am really happy. The difference wasn’t too big even for Krista. Certainly the smallest there has been, Joensuu said.

Eveliina Piippo was disappointed after the competition.

– It was good that it was strict with Jasmi. It motivates me to ski to the finish line today, Piippo stated.

According to Piipo, Saturday was definitely not the best day.

– It feels like the durability has disappeared somewhere again. Perhaps the most annoying thing is skiing, Piippo stated.
