Krista Pärmäkoski talked about last year, when he raced to the end of the Tour and climbed the Alpe Cermis climb.

On Sunday, when leaving, he thought that he should have kept his head. However, Pärmäkoski praised his dog for doing better than last year.

– Edvin has helped to get the thoughts elsewhere. When we go to the camp, we go for a run. Taking the dog to Central Europe has been a successful solution, Pärmäkoski described.

Pärmäkoski was ninth in the overall battle of the Tour, missing the winner Therese from Johaug more than seven minutes. He was not satisfied with the result, as he had challenges on this season’s Tour as well.

– During the first three days of the race, I threw up everything. There wasn’t much energy in the body. After that there were long races. It has been seen all along that the energy supply has been insufficient. Yesterday, the combined skiing got off to a good start, but it was a fast pace. It just didn’t recover until today, Pärmäkoski said and also told about the challenges with the equipment at the Tour.

Pärmäkoski spends the next two weeks in the mountains at an altitude of just under 2,000 meters. He believes that after the next month spent at high altitude, his condition will be good.

Kerttu Niskanen was no longer able to beat the one who passed him in the overall battle on Saturday in Alpe Cermis Jessie Diggins sufficiently. The Finn was fourth.

– Of course, whenever we are fighting for the podium, I would like to be there. This was still good overall. However, I was on the podium three times. Here for the Tour, I got such an increase in fitness. Myself and many others thought that those ahead of the results list were tougher in advance. I didn’t lose to the bad guys, Niskanen said.

There are seven weeks until the start of the World Championships. Niskanen described his situation towards the World Championships as good.

– I hope that we will stay healthy and that our fitness will increase even more, Niskanen announced.

The winner, Therese Johaug, was overjoyed in an interview with . Johaug wasn’t originally supposed to ski the Tour.

– It was a really pleasant surprise that I was able to win. I saw from the program that there would be a lot of races here that would suit me. But you have to perform every day, you have to be lucky, you have to ski. everything has to be successful, Johaug described.

Johaug made Tour de Ski history by winning the final stage of Alpe Cermis. The Norwegian of the day now has 15 stage wins, while the one in second place Justyna Kowalczyk is 14. Johaug also joined the Pole in overall Tour victories. Both now have four of them.
