The “return to normal action plan”, which includes the complete abolition of the Kovid-19 measures prepared by the Austrian Ministry of Health, was accepted by the Council of Ministers.
Health Minister Rauch, at the press conference he held with his delegation, stated that it is possible to take steps to remove all precautions and practices, thanks to the strengthening of the immune system of citizens against the virus and the adequacy of necessary medical supplies such as drugs and vaccines.
Stating that with the action plan created, a return to normal from the crisis situation will be ensured in the coming months, Rauch said that the mask requirement currently applied in health institutions will be lifted on April 30.
Rauch stated that on June 30, Kovid-19 will be removed from the status of “disease to be reported”, so that people who have the disease will not be subject to quarantine and similar restrictions.
Expressing that the special units and structures created related to the epidemic will be terminated as of this date, Rauch added that the states will also be subject to this decision taken at the federal level, and that the states cannot engage in different practices.
Currently, masks are obligatory in health institutions across the country, except for the province of Vienna. In the capital, the mask requirement is sought in public transport and health institutions, while a negative test result must be presented at the entrance to hospitals. (AA)
