Kosovare Asllani’s harsh criticism of women’s football – wants to see a clear change: “Many have missed it”

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

She is one of the biggest names in Swedish women’s football.
But now Kosovare Asllani directs harsh criticism at his own sport.
– They treat us more like products, she tells TT.

After the EC semi-final loss against England this summer, it has been busy for the Swedish star player Kosovar Asllani. Immediately after the championship, an attention-grabbing move to AC Milan awaited, and instead of holidays and recovery, there was an intensive pre-season camp in the USA.

Asllani success

It has really been a dream start for the 33-year-old in red and black with two goals in the first training match. Even in the Serie A premiere, it was a goal directly for Milan.

But Asllani admits that she would really need to rest up this summer.
– I’m not rested, that’s the way it is. And when you come to a new environment, even more is required of you. Because you still have to help the club reach new levels and take new steps in their investment. I haven’t had any recovery after the European Championships, but that’s how football life is, says Asllani in an interview with the news agency TT.

Kosse’s criticism

The Swedish national team star is now directing harsh criticism towards her own sport and how women’s football looks today. With the hard matching both at club team and national team level.

“Kosse” believes that the clubs have not kept up with the development with the great progress of women’s football in recent years.
– We still believe that the harder we train, the better we get. But we have to realize that the more tournaments and matches you have, the more important it becomes with recovery. I think many clubs have missed that, she says in the interview.

“Break”

Asllani wants to see a clearer focus on recovery and this was also the reason why she left the big club Real Madrid last season. Then she accused the Spaniards of forcing injured players to play matches.

In the past, the national team teammate has also Fridolina Rolfö aired his views that players are being pushed harder than before with more number of matches.
– In Sweden, we have always been at the forefront when it comes to training players in how to train, what to eat and that whole bit. There, recovery is a key to success. Because if you constantly break down players and don’t get any recovery in between, then players will break. But you notice that it’s starting to become a bit more like in men’s football, that they treat us more like products. If someone breaks, you just put someone else in, says Kosovare Asllani in his criticism.
