The 36-year-old Lehtivuori moved to the Kouvola team for the last season and played 36 matches in the regular season with 4+1=15 power points.
He was not seen on the field this season.
– After consideration by both parties, we have come to an agreement on terminating the contract. It is important for us to be able to look ahead and we wish Joonas all the best for the future, KooKoo’s sports director Jarno Kultanen quoth in the club’s announcement.
– I want to thank KooKoo and the KooKoo community for the past season and everything we experienced together. I have received support and understanding from the club in my own situation and I am grateful for that. I wish the team success for the season, Lehtivuori said.
Lehtivuori debuted in the SM league in the ranks of Ilves and has also played in e.g. In KalPa, HPK, the SHL club Modo and the German DEL league Adler Mannheim.
