[Mis à jour le 22 février 2022 à 23h45] The first episode of a season of Koh Lanta always has the heavy task of presenting all the participants but also of dividing them into teams and opposing them in various events before organizing one or more eliminations. So there was a lot to do for this episode 1 of Koh Lanta: the cursed totem. And there was no observation round since the season started directly with a first event which was intended to name the team leaders. Arrival first, Alexandra became captain of the Blues while Jean-Philippe, who came second, is now leader of the green team. Both chose Celine, whom they considered weaker, as captain of the purple team. Because yes, there are three teams in this season as in 2020 in Koh Lanta, the four lands.
But that’s not all since this first test also saw the arrival of a new kid: the famous cursed totem which promises a curse to those who lose a test. Lily and Yannick had the misfortune to wear the totem’s first curse in episode 1. Both were provided with a cursed bracelet, a black bracelet which means that at each council (and this until the council of reunification) they will have to put a vote against them in the ballot box. A pledge particularly difficult to digest. Note also that if one or the other is eliminated before reunification, they will bequeath their bracelet to another adventurer. At the end of the event, the three captains divided the 21 other candidates as follows:
- Blue team: Alexandra, Maxime, Fouzi, Colin, Olga, Geraldine, Samira, Benjamin.
- Green team: Jean-Philippe, François, Pauline, Ambre, Nicolas, Franck, Louana, Lili.
- Purple team: Céline, Yannick, Bastien, Jean-Charles, Anne-Sophie, Setha, Stephanie, Matteo.

The three teams were then dispatched to the province of Palawan in the Philippines and began building their camp. Small peculiarity, the production did not give them rice for the first days but bamboo to raise their cabin because of the snakes that inhabit the area. Atmosphere… This first end of the day allowed the candidates to find their water point but also to start building their cabin. Viewers also witnessed a first great moment offered by Franck who, head over heels, began to taste a suspicious plant to find out if it was indeed cassava or not. Unfortunately, it was wild tarot, an inedible and very stinging plan which he had a very hard time recovering from. The dean of the season spent several minutes looking haggard, his mouth and tongue numb. “I feel like I’ve had my mouth and tongue… I wouldn’t say paralyzed but it’s a feeling I’ve never known!” We won’t take it back!
Who was eliminated in episode 1 of Koh Lanta?
After a night in torrential rain, the three teams met again for the first immunity test. Attached to each other, the adventurers of the three teams had to pull rubber bands at the same time to reach studs placed further and further on the beach. Despite a valiant opposition from the Greens and the Violets, it was the Blues who won without really batting an eyelid. Arrived last, the Greens had to face an immediate elimination board. It was Lili, who already had a vote against her from the outset, who was eliminated with 8 votes against her. Lili also had to pass on her cursed bracelet to Pauline, who will suffer the curse for the rest of the adventure.
The Violets are not getting off lightly either since they too lost the immunity test. They do, however, have some time to prepare for the elimination board. Negotiations are going well and several names stand out: on the one hand Céline, who did not shine with her skills during the immunity test, on the other Stéphanie whom Céline and Setha hope to eliminate to save themselves- same. Allies, Céline and Setha try everything for everything: a bluff with a fake immunity collar that could disperse the votes enough to put them out of danger. But the other candidates are not taken in: Céline is eliminated with 4 votes against her while Stéphanie and Setha have collected two votes and Yannick one (that of the cursed bracelet). The candidates from Koh Lanta are going on an adventure in the Philippines. After a season marked by the return of iconic former adventurers from the TF1 program, the 2022 season sees the return of anonymous people. In total, they will be 24 candidates, 12 men and 12 women, to try the adventure of the cursed totem in the hope of becoming the big winner of the next season.
Koh Lanta is back for a new season, entitled “The cursed totem”, in 2022. This one is to be discovered on Tuesday evening, from February 22. Each episode will be broadcast on TF1 from 9:10 p.m., as is usually the case. The first channel therefore decided to keep the Tuesday evening slot, tested during the All Star season in 2021, instead of Friday evening as was traditionally the case until then.

Koh Lanta is an adventure game broadcast since 2001 on TF1. It was presented by Hubert Auriol for the first season. Since 2002, it is Denis Brogniart who is in charge of the animation of the program. Several adventurers try to survive on a deserted island until the finale. In this entertainment of survival and strategy, several tests punctuate each episode, and a candidate is eliminated by the other participants, until there are only five left. The latter then decide on two emblematic tests: the orientation and the posts, before the final vote. Since its inception, the game has seen many rule changes.
Koh Lanta is a TF1 program broadcast twice each year on the first channel: a first season is broadcast in the spring, a second at the end of the summer. Each episode is available on television but also live on the MyTF1 site via tablet, computer or smartphone. The show is available for replay the next day on the MyTF1 website and this for a period of 7 days. Note that the replays are posted on the Salto platform for an indefinite period, which allows the most avid fans to see or re-watch the entire season.
Due to accusations of cheating which would involve adventure game finalists, there was no winner at the end of the last season of Koh Lanta, at the end of 2021. A first in the adventure game. According to Le Parisien, it is Claude Dartois who would have obtained the most votes from his partners and opponents during the final council. But the ballots will not even have been counted … Broadcast on June 4, 2021, the previous final of Koh Lanta (The Secret Weapons) had crowned Maxine, who is therefore the only winner of Koh Lanta in 2021.
