The man who stabbed a ten-year-old girl in Gothenburg is not mentally ill, reports Göteborgs-Posten.
In an investigation, the Forensic Medicine Agency states that the man neither suffered from a serious mental disorder at the time of the crime nor at the time of the investigation. This means that he can be sentenced to prison instead of forensic psychiatric care.
Prosecutor Moa Widjer demands that the man be sentenced to 16 years in prison.
It was in March that the girl was out with her grandparents when the man suddenly attacked and stabbed her in Brunnsparken in central Gothenburg. The girl was seriously injured, and her grandmother was slightly injured.
The man himself has said that he does not remember anything from the incident.
