2 people were killed and 5 injured in a knife attack on a passenger train moving from Kiel, Germany to Hamburg.
Sabine Sütterlin-Waack, Minister of the Interior of the State of Schleswig-Holstein, said in a statement that 2 people lost their lives and 5 people were injured in the knife attack, which took place around 15.00 local time on the train approaching Brokstedt station near Hamburg.
1 PERSON IS DETENTION
A police spokesperson said a suspect was detained on the grounds that he carried out the attack.
The train numbered RE7, where the incident took place, was cancelled, and the scene was cordoned off by the police. While the reason for the attack is not yet known, a large number of ambulances and an ambulance helicopter were sent to the scene. (AA)
