Knife attack in South Korea – several injured

Over ten people are said to have been injured in a knife attack in a shopping center in Seongnam, south of Seoul, reports Reuters.
A man has been arrested and the police are looking for another suspect.
According to Korean News1, the police are investigating the incident as a suspected act of terrorism.

According to information, a car must have mowed down people who were walking on a sidewalk. After that, according to witnesses, two men allegedly jumped out of a car and ran towards the shopping centre.

The men were arrested near a subway station in the vicinity of the crime.

According to local media, at least five people were injured by the car that drove onto the pavement and another 12 were stabbed.

The victims’ injuries are still unclear.

– We are in the process of looking at the injuries and the exact circumstances surrounding the crime, the police announced according to the English-language newspaper Korea Herald.
